Mayor Meehan is continuously disrespectful to the public, staff and other board members during public meetings by arguing with them, interrupting them, or trying to prevent them to make public comments.
- Respect to staff, board members and the public is non-existent a majority of the time.
- October 9, 2024 Agenda was a campaign for Mayor recall, disrespectful to staff and retaliation to staff in a public meeting. The agenda was created by the mayor, which is out of the norm for normal agenda creating. During this meeting Mayor Meehan argued and was highly disrespectful to Town Clerk Amanda Pierce publicly. - On July 8, 2024, the former town administrator resigned, the town clerk was terminated, and the deputy clerk resigned all within twenty-four hours. The town clerk and deputy clerk mentioned in a public meeting they did not want to come back to work unless the mayor resigned. Ref: Board of Trustee Meeting July 17, 2024
- Many members of the community have filed official complaints against Mayor Meehan for treating staff poorly during public meetings.
