Lack of Ethics
Ethics’ definition is well-founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe what humans ought to do, usually in terms of rights, obligations, benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues.
Lack of Decorum and Respect
Mayor Meehan is continuously disrespectful to the public, staff and other board members during public meetings by arguing with them, interrupting them, or trying to prevent them to make public comments.
Lack of Fiscal Responsibility
When you're elected town mayor and accept the role, you must – by law – manage the Town’s money and property for their benefit, not yours. Since October 2023, Mayor Meehan has given the authority to spend thousands of unbudgeted items, such as attorney fees and mediation costs. The mediation costs are result of Mayor Meehan causing strife between herself and the Town of Norwood Staff. These are continuous unbudgeted costs just to keep our current staff from resigning again.
Lack of Transparency
There have been many occasions recently where Mayor Meehan has shown that she is not transparent. Many of her actions are suspicious and her explanations lack truthful responses, onlyexcuses.
About us
The recall committee has chosen some qualities of a competent leader. Mayor Candy Meehan has demonstrated during her term, she lacks these simple qualities and is a liability for the Town of Norwood. The Town of Norwood deserves better and a better leader than Mayor Meehan. These assertions are substantiated by video and audio recordings, public records, emails, minutes, letters and first-hand accounts of actual experience. If this situation is not resolved, we could be back in the same position we were in July of 2024 with no town staff.
